Everything to Know to Plan Your Perfect Wedding at Valley View Farm, Massachusetts

As a Boston wedding photographer who has photographed multiple weddings at Valley View Farm in Massachusetts, I’ve seen how the venue makes couples feel relaxed and confident in planning their day! Here are a few of the top things you need to know that I’ve gathered from capturing days here.

Venues at Valley View Farm

There are so many spots at the Massachusetts wedding venue that are perfect for the different parts of your day! Here’s an overview of each of them:

  • The Pavilion: The Pavilion is one of my favorite spots for ceremonies because everything flows naturally from there. Guests move into cocktail hour without feeling shuffled around, and you can sneak off for a few minutes of portraits while everyone’s grabbing a drink. It feels intentional without being overly structured.

  • The Yellow Barn: The Yellow Barn has this warm light in the late afternoon that just wraps around you. It’s rustic and elevated, all at the same time. And you really don’t need to over-decorate it because the space already carries so much character!

  • The Farms: If you’re the kind of couple who wants to wander into the orchard for portraits or slow dance under the trees at sunset, this property gives you that freedom. There’s room for movement here, which I love because that’s how I photograph: lots of interaction, lots of walking, lots of just being yourselves!

The Best Time of Year for a Valley View Farm Wedding

Valley View Farm is one of those spaces that’s really beautiful year-round. The venue is equipped to handle weddings throughout every season, with indoor spaces for cozy winter weddings, shaded patios for summer cocktail hours, and fruit orchards that create a really special backdrop in the fall.

If I had to pick a favorite season here, I’d say spring. The fields feel fresh, the light is soft, and everything just feels hopeful. But fall? Ugh. The colors against the barn are so cute. It’s one of those spots that really shines when the air shifts a little cooler.

How Timelines Look for Valley View Farm Weddings

The best Valley View Farm weddings I’ve photographed have one thing in common: they don’t feel rushed. There’s time built in for you two to step away, read private vows, breathe together before guests arrive. That’s the kind of timeline I help my couples create.

9:00 am: Getting ready in the private suites

2:00 pm: First look, private vows, and portraits in the orchards

3:00 pm: Wedding party and family photos underneath the tree on the farm

4:00 pm: An outdoor ceremony on the farm

4:30 pm: Cocktail hour on the patio

5:00 pm: Couple’s reception entrance & dances

5:15 pm: Dinner & speeches inside the barn

6:30 pm: Dancing begins

7:30 pm: Sunset photos in the open fields

Of course, every couple is different. Some want more time with guests, some want a longer portrait window. That’s why I walk through this with you instead of handing you a template and calling it done!
